Hardware and software requirements for running Filemobile:
This page should give you a good idea of what computer gear and electronic gear you will need to get the most out of Filemobile*. We have broken this down into Computer Gear, Mobile Phone, Digital Camera, Webcams and Blog Publishing Tools. These five elements will provide you with the tools to get the most out of your Filemobile experience.
* Having more gear will certainly not hurt, and some will do fine with less.
Computer Gear:
We have tested Filemobile extensively on the following minimum hardware configurations:

*Unfortunately, Filemobile is not designed to be played on Windows CE and other PDAs, or with Web TV.
Mobile Phone:
We recommended that you have a photo/video phone.
Phone Requirements: SMS and/or Web-enabled.
You will need to be sending your photos/video to your Filemobile email account* from your phone.
Having a highspeed cell network is a great advantage, but not a requirement.
* Wireless carriers may charge fees for sending email to your filemobile account
** Also note that some carriers may block the sending of photos/video to your Filemobile account. If this is the case, please let us know by sending us an email here.
Digital Camera:
Typically the requirements here would be the same from a computer level as what is listed above. That being said we recommend you be using a 4 MEGAPIXEL camera and up. Any model any make. You will need plenty of storage space. Also you will need an available serial port, (USB port on Windows 98 for a CF card reader available in some camera outfits) or CF card reader.
Webcam:
Our mediastudio applications enables you to record video, audio and take photos with your webcam. We do this through flash player 8.0. We have looked high and low for a compatibility matrix of some sort from Macromedia which describes what webcams are supported by flash 8.0. This is the latest document we can find from Macromedia dated July, 2004.
Blog Tools:
In order to be able to publish any of your filemobile media to a blog site, you need to already have an account setup with one of our supported Blog tools. Those tools include: Blogger, Typepad, Livejournal, Wordpress, and Movable Type.
